Bags & Textile Care Guide

Bags & Textile Care Guide

Our Hand Block and Screen Printed products are created using traditional Jaipur techniques and natural dyes. To preserve the vibrant colors and the integrity of the fabric, please follow these care instructions:

1. Handcrafted Bags (Canvas & Cotton)

  • Spot Cleaning: For minor stains, clean only the affected area with a damp cloth and a drop of mild detergent.

  • Do Not Submerge: Avoid soaking the bag in water as it can damage the internal lining and the hand-block structure.

  • Drying: Always air-dry your bags in the shade. Direct sunlight can cause the natural dyes to fade over time.

2. Apparel (Kaftans, Kimonos & Dresses)

  • First Wash: We highly recommend Dry Cleaning for the first wash to set the traditional colors.

  • Subsequent Washes: Hand wash gently in cold water using a mild, eco-friendly detergent.

  • No Bleach: Never use bleach or harsh chemicals, as they will strip the natural prints.

  • Ironing: Iron on the reverse side (inside out) at a low-to-medium heat setting to protect the print.

3. Home Linen (Bedsheets, Quilts & Bedcovers)

  • Machine Wash: Use a gentle/delicate cycle with cold water.

  • Wash Separately: For the first few washes, wash these items separately. Natural dyes may bleed slightly initially—this is a hallmark of authentic hand-block printing.

  • Storage: Store in a dry, well-ventilated space. During humid months, ensure they are kept in a moisture-free environment.

A Note on Hand-Block Artistry

“Our textiles are handmade by skilled artisans. Small irregularities in the print, minor dye spots, or slight color variations are not defects. They are the signatures of human hands and proof that your product is a unique, handcrafted piece of art, not a mass-produced machine item.”
